Kids Camps

 

Our Kids’ Summer Art Explorer Camps and Pottery Clay Camps are still the Best Fun and Creative in Buffalo area!

 Each week we offer engaging creative art projects in a fun, relaxing studio setting and in nature outdoors. Camp projects do vary week to week multiple week registrations is possible.

AGE AND ABILITY RESTRICTIONS
We work closely with our teachers to develop the most favorable age ranges and ability levels for each camp. In order to ensure the success of our programs, we ask that you observe these restrictions when registering your children for camps.

WHAT TO WEAR AND BRING
Kids may get messy, so make sure your child wears appropriate clothing and footwear (sneakers are best; no open-toed shoes.) All clay and glaze materials should wash out of clothing. But other paints and materials may not, a smock or apron might be appropriate for children who are worried about getting art-mess on their clothes. It’s best to dress to mess not for fashion. Art Explorer campers need to apply sunscreen and bug spray as we will create artworks outside at Parks, Creekside or outside studio. Children who wish to attend our camps should be current with vaccines.

DROP OFF / PICK UP
Parents and caregivers should drop off and pick up their children at the Main Classroom. On the first day, please come into the classroom and introduce yourself and your child and to turn in your emergency contact information. Please do not drop your child off too early (no more than 5 minutes before class time); pick up your child promptly at the end of class or subjected to charges.

SNACK BREAK
Campers take a short break in each camp, so please pack a (small simple snack)  for your child and label the bag with his/her name.  Please note: AYS facility is we will be offering special snacks on some days, such as popsicles/freeze pops or ice cream . Please notify us 3 weeks in advance if your child has special dietary issues that would affect the other campers and we will do our best to notify parents of the issue.

COMPLETED PROJECTS
Completed projects may be picked up 3 – 4  weeks after the camp ends; we will email you when they are ready. We strongly recommend that you bring your child with you to help identify what s/he made. Projects left after October 20th. may be discarded. If you cannot pick up your child’s projects by this date, please make arrangements for someone else to pick them up or  make advance email arrangements for a later pick up.

INSTRUCTORS AND CLASS CONTENT
All instructor listings are subject to change. Students can expect to make new work Monday through Thursday and spend Friday finishing artwork and glazing. Thursdays are creek day for all camps water shoes are preferred. Class time will include time for cleanup, an integral part of the process. Class descriptions are subject to change depending on ability levels of participating students. Your children will be encouraged to create several pieces during camps. You can anticipate your child having 3-5 completed works. Please Note: Due to the very nature of clay and the firing process, AYS cannot be responsible for any damage to work caused by poor construction or the firing or glazing processes.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION
AYS will send confirmation of registration at checkout via email. If there is insufficient enrollment, we will cancel the camp, notify registered students and refund all payments in full if the student is not able to transfer into another camp. This cancellation may occur at the very last minute.

COVID PROTOCAL
Children who wish to attend our camps are recommended to be vaccinated and or if needed must be ready to wear a mask during their time at camp indoors if the Covid numbers climb

  • For everyone’s safety, please elect to stay home if you or anyone you have been in close contact with has tested positive for COVID-19 or have experienced symptoms of COVID-19 in the last 10 days.  Simply contact us so that we can notify other families.

REFUND POLICY
Tuition is due in full at time of registration. If a student cancels for any reason up to 2.5 full weeks (19 days) before the camp begins, a $27 processing fee will be subtracted from the refund, which will be issued via check or PayPal. No refunds or transfers will be issued with less than a 2.5-week (18 days) notice of start date. If Artyard Studio cancels a camp due to low enrollment or another reason we can offer a camp shift or will refund all tuition. Tuition can not be prorated. There are no make-up sessions for any missed days of camp. Camps usually fill quickly, so please register early!
